Bargaja Residents Deny Mass Relocation Amid Banditry

Residents of Bargaja, located in the Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, have refuted claims of mass relocation due to banditry. Reports had circulated about a significant movement of people from the area due to persistent attacks by bandits.

However, residents clarified that while some individuals began relocating, it was not on the scale reported. Malam Altin Guyawa, a local figure, noted that the presence of military personnel and security operations has changed public perception and provided a sense of security.

On a recent Saturday, the Nigerian Army's rapid response team successfully repelled an attempted attack by bandits on Bargaja and nearby communities, demonstrating the effectiveness of their proactive measures. The situation in the area is currently stable, with military sources confirming control over the region and a commitment to maintaining security.
