Sokoto State Constructs 1,365km Rural Roads

The Sokoto State Government, through its Special Adviser on Rural Roads, Hon. Malami Muhammad Galadanchi, announced the construction of 1,365 kilometers of rural roads aimed at improving socio-economic activities in rural communities. This initiative covers all 23 local government areas in Sokoto State, with 530 more kilometers of roads planned for the future.

Galadanchi stated that some of the roads have already been completed and commissioned, while others are completed and awaiting commissioning, and some are still under construction. The road projects are categorized into three types: asphalt, surface dressing, and feeder roads.

Notable examples include the Gada-Illah-Gari-Dutse-Tabanni Road, which spans approximately 9.5 kilometers, and various projects in the Tambuwal local government area totaling over 100 kilometers, such as the Dogondaji-Nabaguda-Yagawal-Tambuwal Road (23 kilometers) and the Faga-Alasan-Romon Liman Road (21.18 kilometers).
