Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway to Enhance Kebbi's Economy

The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced that the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway will significantly boost agriculture and create new economic opportunities for communities along the 1,000-kilometre corridor, particularly in Kebbi State, where approximately 250 kilometers of the highway will be located. During a courtesy visit from Kebbi State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Yakubu Ahmed Birnin-Kebbi, and the state Governor’s media team in Abuja, Idris emphasized that the highway is designed to enhance economic activities and facilitate road transportation.

He noted the construction of about 63 dams along the corridor, which will benefit agriculture and power generation. Idris praised the collaboration between the Kebbi State Government and the Federal Government in areas such as agriculture and infrastructure, highlighting the importance of such partnerships for national development.

He reiterated that the Federal Government's investment in infrastructure projects, including this highway, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to foster development closer to the populace.
