Sokoto Governor Aliyu Promises New Motor Parks Completion

On Thursday, Governor Ahmadu Aliyu of Sokoto State assured the public of the expedited completion of four motor parks currently under construction across the state. This initiative aims to decongest transport hubs and improve safety, particularly in light of a recent fire outbreak that caused significant property damage at the Sokoto Central Motor Park.

During his visit to the site, Aliyu emphasized the urgent need to expand transport infrastructure due to the growing population and increased commercial activities, which have led to congestion at existing facilities. He confirmed that the projects are at an advanced stage and will soon be operational.

The governor expressed sympathy for traders and transport operators affected by the fire, assuring them of government support in their recovery efforts. He also urged residents to observe strict safety precautions, especially when handling flammable materials, to prevent future incidents.

Fortunately, no lives were lost in the fire, which remains a concern for traffic management in the state capital.
