Sokoto Governor Aliyu Promises Safe Return for Displaced

Ahmad Aliyu, the Governor of Sokoto State, addressed the state executive council meeting on Thursday, expressing optimism regarding ongoing security operations that aim to facilitate the safe return of displaced residents to their communities. He highlighted that these operations have already yielded positive results, particularly in 13 local government areas affected by insecurity.

Aliyu reaffirmed the administration's commitment to prioritizing the fight against banditry and ensuring the safety of displaced individuals as they return to their ancestral homes. He pledged continued logistical support to enhance the capacity of security forces to protect lives and property.

Additionally, Aliyu called for stronger community involvement, urging residents to provide credible intelligence to help security agencies track down criminal elements. He warned against activities that could jeopardize peace within local communities and reiterated the government's broader agenda to deliver purposeful leadership and drive development across Sokoto State.
