Sokoto Governor Aliyu to Reward Dedicated Civil Servants

On Tuesday, Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu revealed plans to reward punctual and dedicated civil servants as part of efforts to instill discipline and boost productivity within the state's civil service. During a visit from state workers led by Head of Service Abdulkadir Ahm, Aliyu noted the establishment of a committee to develop criteria for identifying diligent workers.

He expressed concern over widespread absenteeism and warned that indiscipline would no longer be tolerated, stating that unscheduled visits to ministries and agencies would be conducted to enforce compliance with civil service rules. However, he reassured workers of the administration's commitment to their welfare and urged them to reciprocate ongoing reforms.

Abdulkadir Ahm commended the governor for recruiting 3,000 workers, describing it as an unprecedented act in the history of Sokoto State's civil service, which would help reduce unemployment. The governor also highlighted the prompt payment of salaries and the settlement of pension backlogs.
