Sokoto State to Reward Hardworking Public Servants

Dr. Ahmadu Aliyu, the Governor of Sokoto State, has announced an initiative to reward hardworking public servants as a response to growing concerns regarding absenteeism among civil servants.

In a press statement issued by the Director General of Media and Publicity, Comrade Abubakar Bawa, the governor emphasized the need to recognize employees who demonstrate dedication and punctuality in their roles. A committee will soon be constituted to develop strategies and procedures for selecting these workers for rewards.

Governor Aliyu noted that the decision to implement this reward system became necessary due to the increasing trend of workers being absent or failing to report to work as required. He also mentioned plans for unscheduled visits to ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to monitor compliance with civil service rules and regulations.

The governor reiterated the administration's commitment to maintaining a worker-friendly environment and highlighted various welfare initiatives introduced to support civil servants.
