Sokoto State Government Starts Salary Payments for 3,100 Workers

The Sokoto state government has commenced salary payments for 3,100 newly recruited workers in the state civil service. This initiative was officially launched by Abdulkadir Ahmed, the Head of the Sokoto State Civil Service, during a ceremony at the Cabinet Office in Sokoto.
The salary payments followed a verification exercise to confirm the presence of the recruits at their assigned ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). This recruitment aligns with Governor Ahmed Aliyu's campaign promise to create employment opportunities for the state's unemployed population.
Over the past three years, the administration has employed more than 8,000 workers across various sectors, including 1,805 in the health sector, which comprises 1,500 nurses and midwives, 175 doctors, 45 pharmacists, and 85 radiographers. Additionally, 2,747 personnel have been recruited into the Sokoto State Community Guard Corps, and the Sokoto State Marshal has added 1,550 personnel.
The recruitment process was inclusive, allowing all qualified indigenes to participate regardless of political affiliations.
