Sokoto State Government Creates 6,990 Jobs Ahead of 2027

The Sokoto State Government, led by Governor Ahmad Aliyu, has announced the creation of 6,990 jobs as part of its governance strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections. Nura Mahe, the senior special assistant on strategic communications to the governor, stated that the administration prioritizes human capital development and employment.

The job creation includes 3,000 new positions in the Sokoto State Civil Service, 2,440 Community Health Workers for Primary Healthcare Centres, and 1,550 operatives for the Sokoto State Marshals Agency, which includes 70 female marshals. The government also reported the employment of 2,000 teachers for secondary and nomadic schools and the establishment of the Sokoto Community Guard Corps.

Mahe challenged opposition parties, particularly the African Democratic Congress, to present their own records of job creation and governance rather than relying on rumors. He emphasized that the upcoming elections should focus on demonstrable achievements rather than political rhetoric.
