Governor Aliyu's Urgent Reforms Transform Sokoto State

Governor Aliyu's administration in Sokoto has made significant strides in delivering essential services and addressing developmental gaps since taking office nearly three years ago. The administration has prioritized urgent reforms in critical sectors such as security, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agriculture.

Key initiatives include the immediate release of 4 billion naira for structural payments to clear a backlog of 14 billion naira in unpaid gratuities for retired civil servants. Additionally, the administration has implemented a minimum wage of 70,000 naira for state and local government workers, including primary school teachers.

In the education sector, the government is constructing 1,175 classrooms and rehabilitating 1,000 others, while also upgrading facilities at Nagarta College and Sokoto Girls College. The administration is committed to ensuring that children continue their studies, including supporting students affected by the crisis in Ukraine.

Governor Aliyu emphasizes the need for a balanced approach to urgent actions and long-term planning under the 9-point smart agenda.
