Sokoto IDPs Protest Over Killings, Demand Government Action!

In Sokoto, hundreds of internally displaced persons (IDPs) protested in Shagari town over repeated bandit attacks that have resulted in killings and abductions. The residents of Rinaye village expressed their frustration after enduring three consecutive days of attacks, leading to three deaths and the abduction of their community leader and imam.

The affected villages, including Aske, Dodo, Tungar Barke, and Jandutse, have witnessed increased insecurity, forcing many residents to flee. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) have visited the affected areas to provide shelter and assistance to the displaced families, urging the government to enhance security measures and support the return of residents to their communities.
