NEMA, SEMA, Red Cross Assess IDP Camps After Bandit Attack

Following a recent bandit attack in Sabon Birni local government area in Sokoto State, NEMA, SEMA, and the Red Cross conducted an assessment of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in the area. The assessment aimed to evaluate the humanitarian situation, identify urgent needs, and coordinate an effective response for the displaced residents.

The delegation, led by a member of the National Assembly, interacted with victims to ascertain their living conditions and immediate challenges, such as access to food, shelter, water, and medical care. The council chairman of the local government expressed appreciation for the joint assessment team's visit and commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for delegating the intervention effort.

The team identified various IDP camps in schools and communities, and pledged to deliver necessary relief and support to the displaced persons.
