Sokoto State Residents Protest Against Escalating Banditry, Demand Urgent Government Action

Protest erupts in Sokoto State as residents flee due to escalating banditry. Criminal gangs have tightened their deadly grip, affecting 16 out of 23 local government areas.

Hundreds of men, women, and children in Shagari LGA staged a mass protest demanding urgent government action. The displaced residents, traumatized and barefoot, expressed frustration over relentless attacks.

The Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency and NEMA officials visited affected areas, providing shelter to the displaced. The community is in despair as the gangs roam freely, causing devastation.

Traditional leaders are also engaging in discussions to address the crisis.
