Sokoto Governor Urges NYSC Members to Drive Local Development

During the orientation ceremony for the 2026 Batch Stream 11 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Sokoto State, Governor Dr. Ahmad Aliyu emphasized the critical role of corps members in driving local development.

He described them as frontline agents of change, tasked with confronting Nigeria's pressing issues such as unemployment, poverty, and crime. Aliyu highlighted the need for corps members to possess honesty, skill, and dedication, urging them to understand and serve the communities they are deployed to.

He addressed concerns regarding their security and welfare, assuring that the state government would prioritize their safety. The ceremony included the administration of the oath of allegiance by Justice Kabiru Muhammad, with attendance from notable figures including Sultan Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar and NYSC State Coordinator Mr.

Tyoy Gabriel Ter, who praised the corps members for their positive conduct.
