Soldiers Neutralize 30 Insurgents in Borno Operation

On April 21-22, 2026, troops from the Northeast Joint Task Force, under the command of Lt. Col.

Sani Uba, conducted a successful operation near Kaniram Island in Borno State, resulting in the neutralization of over 30 insurgents and the destruction of several boats linked to terrorist activities. The operation was part of Operation Hadin Kai, which aims to dismantle terrorist networks in the region.

Utilizing credible intelligence and aerial surveillance, the troops targeted a concentration of 30 terrorist boats involved in resupply activities. The operation included precise air strikes that disrupted the logistics of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and led to significant enemy losses, including evidence of mass burial activities.
