Nigerian Army Rescues Hostages, Kills Bandits in Bauchi

The Nigerian Army announced that troops from the 33 Artillery Brigade achieved significant success in a military operation in Bauchi State. Conducted on Tuesday, the operation targeted bandit networks in the Kumbodoro Forest and Kumbodoro Village.

The troops successfully cleared multiple bandit enclaves, including the notorious Azug camp, with support from air components. This operation resulted in the neutralization of several bandits and the dismantling of key operational bases, thereby degrading the criminal capabilities that threaten the lives and properties of citizens.

Additionally, the operation led to the rescue of eight kidnap victims. A thorough search of the bandit enclaves resulted in the recovery of various arms and equipment, including four skeletal rifles, four Dane guns, one FN rifle magazine, one AK-47 magazine, and several other items such as mobile handsets and security agency uniforms.
