Operation Fansan Yamma Troops Neutralize Terrorist in Sokoto

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma conducted a successful operation in Sokoto State, neutralizing a suspected terrorist in a raid on a hideout near Karani village in Gudu Local Government Area. Following credible intelligence on terrorist activities, the troops engaged the suspects, resulting in the death of one suspected terrorist while others escaped into the forest.

The operation also led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle with live ammunition, an operational motorcycle, military camouflage uniforms, maintenance tools, and other logistical supplies. Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, spokesman for the 8 Division, stated that the troops' decisive firepower during the encounter showcased their commitment to disrupting terrorist activities.

Additionally, six family members were rescued during the operation. The troops subsequently initiated clearance operations in the surrounding forest to prevent the fleeing terrorists from regrouping.
