Soldiers Neutralize Two Terrorists in Benue Operation

On March 9, 2026, soldiers from the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke conducted an operation in Tse Anka Community, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State, where they neutralized two suspected terrorists. The operation was part of a confidence-building patrol aimed at reassuring residents and combating criminal elements in the area.

The troops, led by Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu Zubairu, acted on credible intelligence regarding terrorist activities. Upon arrival, they engaged in a brief firefight with the suspects, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists, while several others fled, possibly injured.

Following the engagement, the troops conducted a search of the area and recovered an AK-47 rifle, five rifle magazines, 61 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, nine rounds of 9mm ammunition, a Bajaj motorcycle, 82 SIM cards, six ATM cards, and several charms. Major General Mose Gara commended the troops for their swift response and emphasized the ongoing commitment to protect lives and property while dismantling terrorist networks in the region.
