Troops Neutralize Two Terrorists in Benue State Operation

Troops from the Joint Task Force OPW conducted a successful operation in Benue State, neutralizing two suspected terrorists during a patrol along the Katsina Ala-Zaki Biam road. The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding the movement of armed bandits in the Amafu Iwer area.

Ahmad Zubairu, acting as the media information officer at the Joint Task Force headquarters, reported that upon arrival, the troops engaged the suspects in a gun battle, resulting in the deaths of the two individuals, while others escaped into nearby bushes. A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, a magazine containing eight rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and green camouflage uniforms that were abandoned by the fleeing suspects.

Zubairu emphasized the importance of public cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts and urged local residents to continue supporting security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property in the operational area.
