Nigerian Army Troops Eliminate Two Bandits in Benue Ambush

Nigerian Army troops, specifically the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke, eliminated two suspected armed bandits during a surprise ambush along the Naka-Ahum-Makurdi road in Benue State. The operation, which occurred on a Monday, involved soldiers from the Special Intervention Battalion IX.

The troops were on a routine patrol when they received credible intelligence about the movement of the armed bandits. A brief encounter ensued, leading to a gunfight where three armed men were spotted.

Two bandits were killed, and an AK-47 rifle with ammunition was recovered from the scene. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the third suspect.

Major General Mose Gara, the Force Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke, praised the troops for their swift and professional response, reiterating the military's commitment to enhancing security in Benue and its surrounding areas.
