Soldiers Rescue 14 Kidnapped Victims in Katsina State

On August 18, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force North West, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma, successfully rescued 14 kidnapped victims in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence regarding the movement of terrorists holding captives around Madaci Forest.

Lit-Col. Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, reported that the troops swiftly mobilized to the area, engaged the terrorists, and forced them to abandon their captives. The rescued individuals included six males and eight females, who had been abducted from various locations within the Dandume, Bakori, and Funtua areas.

After their rescue, the victims were handed over to local authorities for necessary actions and reunification with their families. Danja emphasized the troops' commitment to protecting lives and maintaining pressure on terrorist elements in the North-West region.
