Soludo Directs Political Appointees to Handover Duties

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has issued a directive for all political appointees to hand over their responsibilities to permanent secretaries and senior civil servants in various ministries, departments, and agencies. This order, dated March 18, 2026, was signed by Nwabufo Nwankwo, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

The political appointees are required to complete the handover by the end of work on March 18, 2026, pending the constitution of a new cabinet. The letter emphasizes the importance of this transition and informs the appointees to prepare for a meeting with the governor on March 23, 2026, at 10 AM in the Ansec Chamber.

The directive follows the swearing-in of Soludo's deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, on March 18, 2026, in the presence of notable dignitaries including Vice President Kashim Shettima and former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
