SON Supports National Single Window Trade Initiative

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has reaffirmed its support for the Federal Government's initiative to implement a national single window trade digital platform, scheduled to launch on March 27, 2026. This platform is designed to streamline import and export procedures by integrating multiple government agencies into a single electronic portal, allowing traders to submit required documents in one place.

The initiative is expected to reduce duplication, improve transparency, and speed up processing times across Nigeria's trade network. Dr.

Ifeanyi Chukwunonso, SON's Director General, stated that the organization is fully committed to supporting the national single window trade integration and regulatory process. The platform aims to ensure that imported and exported products comply with national and international standards, enhancing efficiency for traders.

Additionally, the electronic submission of permits and regulatory documents will simplify trade procedures, accelerate cargo clearance, and improve Nigeria's global trade competitiveness.
