South-South Female Cricket League Launches March 3, 2026

The South-South Female Cricket League is scheduled to begin on March 3, 2026, and will run until March 8, taking place across three centers in Nigeria. This league is part of the business calendar year for the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) and aims to provide a competitive platform for women's cricket.

The tournament will feature nine clubs, including the 2024 winner, Idia Royal, Adolor Amazon, Emotan Queen Cricket Club, Ekpoma Supernova Cricket Club, Delta Force Cricket Club, Uniport Pathfinders, Dragon Cricket Club, Bayelsa Smasher, and Ranger Cricket Club from Akwa Ibom State. Matches will be held in two locations in Benin City and Port Harcourt, specifically at the NCF High Performance Centre, Edo Boys High School, and Iyoba Girl College.

The league format will be round-robin, with the best teams advancing to a super series to determine the winner. Uyi Akpata, the NCF President, emphasized that this league, which began in 2021, aims to enhance gender balance and overall development in Nigerian cricket.
