Southern Governors to Establish Security Fund and Enhance Intelligence Sharing

The Southern Governors Forum, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, has resolved to create a security fund for member states to support regional security operations. They aim to improve intelligence sharing, establish a monthly zonal security coordination meeting, and enhance operational capabilities across the southern region.

The forum also emphasized the need for decentralization of policing, creation of state police, and collaboration with traditional rulers to address security threats, including illegal mining activities.
