Sowore Campaign Responds to Duke's Presidential Comments

Rex I. Elanu, the spokesperson for the Omoyele Sowore/Magashi 2027 Presidential Campaign, addressed comments made by Donald Duke, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), regarding Omoyele Sowore's presidential ambitions.

Duke described Sowore as a "voice of conscience" but expressed uncertainty about his commitment to running for president. In response, Elanu clarified that Sowore is not seeking the presidency just to occupy Aso Rock or replace President Bola Tinubu.

Instead, he aims to transform the political order that has led to ongoing issues such as poverty, insecurity, corruption, inequality, and underdevelopment in Nigeria. Elanu emphasized that the African Action Congress (AAC) is advocating for a "people-centred system" focused on justice, equality, and democratic participation, rather than merely replacing the current ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He also rejected the notion that a proposed opposition coalition could effectively represent the political change Nigeria needs, asserting that true coalition should involve ordinary Nigerians.
