Sowore Confirms 2027 Presidential Bid Amid Duke's Remarks

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), has firmly asserted his intention to run for president in the 2027 elections, responding to comments made by Donald Duke regarding his political ambitions. Sowore highlighted that his candidacy is officially recognized in the final list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which includes 18 presidential candidates.

He expressed gratitude to Duke for labeling him a "voice of conscience" but clarified that there should be no doubt about his presidential aspirations. Sowore articulated that his campaign aims to fundamentally transform Nigeria's political landscape rather than merely replace existing politicians.

He criticized ongoing efforts by opposition figures to form a coalition, stating that the AAC would not join any initiative focused solely on replacing President Bola Tinubu with another member of the political establishment. Sowore's campaign priorities include equal rights, revolutionary justice, a living wage, and access to quality education and healthcare.
