Sowore Responds to Assassination Plot Against Him

Omoyele Sowore, a prominent Nigerian activist, has publicly responded to a reported assassination plot against him, which was uncovered by fellow activist Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu, known as Ijel. Sowore described the alleged plot as part of a deeply troubling pattern aimed at intimidating and silencing dissenting voices in Nigeria.

He emphasized that the threat is neither random nor accidental but rather a carefully planned attempt to eliminate outspoken individuals. Sowore recalled having survived multiple assassination attempts, including an incident involving security operatives in 2021, and noted the tragic loss of his brother, Felix Olajide Sowore, in a similar context.

He asserted that the ongoing threats are part of a broader strategy to maintain power by forcing silence among those who challenge injustices.
