Sowore Explains Low Voter Turnout in FCT Elections

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has highlighted the reasons behind the low voter turnout in the FCT Area Council election. He stated that many Nigerians have lost confidence and trust in the electoral process, which has led to a lack of interest in participating in elections.

Sowore made these remarks during an interview with Vanguard on Saturday, emphasizing the need for the National Assembly to handle electoral amendments effectively. He pointed out that the current electoral situation in the FCT does not reflect the interests of Nigerians, who are instead focusing on the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Sowore's comments come in the wake of the Area Council elections held at polling units, including a primary school in Kabusa, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
