SpaceX Launches Crew-13 Mission to International Space Station

SpaceX launched the Crew-13 mission to the International Space Station (ISS) using a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The mission features an autonomously operated Crew Dragon capsule carrying NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Canadian astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Russian cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov.
The Falcon 9 booster separated approximately three minutes post-launch and successfully returned to Earth. The Crew Dragon is expected to take an eight-hour journey to dock with the ISS, located about 400 km above Earth.
This mission marks the 13th long-duration crew sent by NASA aboard a SpaceX vehicle since May 2020. Jessica Watkins, 38, leads the mission and is making her second spaceflight, becoming the first NASA astronaut to fly twice aboard a Crew Dragon.
Delaney, 47, is on his first spaceflight, while both Kutryk, 44, and Teteryatnikov, 37, are also debuting in space. Crew-13 will engage in biomedical research, studying microgravity effects on blood circulation and clotting, and will support future space missions.
