Piqué Receives Two-Month Ban After Referee Confrontation

Gerard Piqué, a former FC Barcelona defender and current co-owner of FC Andorra, has been handed a two-month suspension by the Spanish Football Federation due to a dispute with a referee. This incident took place during FC Andorra's 1-0 loss to Albacete.

According to reports, Piqué allegedly made threatening remarks to the referee, instructing him to leave the field to avoid being attacked. The disciplinary committee cited this behavior as a public act that undermines the dignity and decorum of the sport.

Additionally, FC Andorra's president, Ferran Vilaseca, received a four-month suspension, while sports director Jaume Nogués was also banned. At present, FC Andorra is positioned 10th in Spain's second division.

Throughout his playing career, Piqué won nine La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies with Barcelona and was part of the Spain national team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012.
