Speaker Tajudeen Aims for Re-election Amid Senate Rumors

Speaker Tajudeen is preparing to seek re-election for the Zaria Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, despite growing rumors regarding a possible Senate bid for the Kaduna North seat, which is currently occupied by Khalid Ibrahim Mustapha of the People Democratic Party (PDP). Speculation around Tajudeen's ambition has gained traction in political circles, suggesting he may consider contesting for the Senate.

However, sources indicate that plans for this Senate run may be shelved following advice from the Kaduna State Governor, who has reportedly advised Tajudeen to retain his position in the House of Representatives. Consultations are ongoing within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure Tajudeen's continued role in the next assembly.

A close aide to the Speaker has dismissed claims of his Senate ambitions, stating that Tajudeen has not declared any interest in the race. Meanwhile, former Kaduna State Governor Yero is reportedly gaining support to emerge as the APC candidate for the Kaduna North senatorial district.
