APC Rejects Dagogo's Lawsuit Against National Convention

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Ambassador Fubara Dagogo, who is seeking to halt the party's national convention scheduled for March 25, 2026, in Abuja. APC's National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, stated that the lawsuit is "spurious" and lacks a basis, emphasizing that the convention will proceed as planned.

Basiru noted that the party expects over 7,200 delegates to attend the event, which will also involve the election of zonal vice chairmen across six geopolitical zones. Dagogo's legal action, filed in the Federal High Court, Abuja, claims he was denied the opportunity to express interest in the nomination process despite paying the required fee of 5.1 million naira.

The party's leadership, including Victor Giadom and Suleiman Moham Argungu, is named in the suit, which seeks to restrain the conduct of the South-South zonal congress. The APC has urged its members to adhere to the party's constitution and legal guidelines.
