St. Gregory’s College Launches Art Exhibition in Lagos

St. Gregory’s College in Ikoyi, Lagos, unveiled its inaugural art exhibition from April 25 to April 27, 2026, at the Jubilee Hall.

The event, organized by the St. Gregory’s College Old Boys Association, honors the legendary artist Bruce Onobrakpeya and aims to celebrate the legacy of excellence in Nigerian art.

The exhibition features works from both established and emerging artists, with the theme focused on preserving Nigeria's artistic heritage and mentoring younger creatives. Dr.

Michael Omolayol, former chairman of the Old Boys Association, praised the initiative as a bold cultural step. Franci Kudayah, president of the association, emphasized that the exhibition aligns with the school's core values of excellence and discipline.

Plans were announced for an annual art clinic to mentor young artists and a digital platform, the Gregorian Art Mart, to expand global access to Nigerian artwork. Onobrakpeya reflected on his journey as an artist and the importance of mentorship in preserving cultural values.

The exhibition showcases works from notable artists, including Victor Uwaifo and David Dale.
