Gregorian Art Exhibition Celebrates Bruce Onobrakpeya

The Gregorian Art Exhibition, inaugurated by Wale Igbintad, took place at Jubilee Hall, St. Gregory's College, Ikoyi, Lagos, from April 25 to April 27, 2026.

This event honored renowned artist Bruce Onobrakpeya and aimed to celebrate his legacy while supporting emerging talent. The exhibition brought together a diverse mix of artists and stakeholders, positioning itself as a platform to showcase creative work and preserve artistic heritage.

Dr. Michael Omolayol, former chairman of the St.

Gregory's College Old Boys Association, praised the initiative for advancing the school's legacy in fine arts. Franci Oluwol Kudayah, president of the association, described the exhibition as a cultural event that would shape the college's identity.

The exhibition also aimed to fundraise for alumni welfare initiatives and strengthen the college's endowment fund. Onobrakpeya, who chose to remain in Nigeria despite opportunities abroad, emphasized the importance of mentorship and nurturing young talent within the artistic community.
