Stakeholders Advocate for Girl-Child Empowerment in Abuja

Stakeholders in Abuja have urged for stronger investment in girl-child empowerment and education, emphasizing its significance for leadership development, national growth, and the prevention of human trafficking. This call was made during the graduation and award ceremony for the first cohort of the African Girl Guides’ 12-week leadership and empowerment program, themed “Leading Beyond the Programme: Sustaining Purpose, Influence and Impact.” Nelson Ogohi, Founder of Uplift International, stated that investment in the girl child should be a national priority, particularly in regions where girls face educational barriers.

He highlighted that empowering women contributes to national development. Jindu Elueze, Founder of Paw Salvation and African Girl Guide, shared his journey from Nigeria to the United States and back, emphasizing the importance of service and the graduation of the girls as a significant milestone.

Sophia Okiasi, Manager of African Girl Guide, also participated in the event, which gathered representatives from various sectors to promote girl-child education across Nigeria.
