Kwara State Government and Local Councils Begin Construction of Multimillion-Naira Pavilion Project in Ilorin

The Kwara State Government, in collaboration with five local government councils in Ilorin, has initiated the construction of a multimillion-naira ultramodern pavilion project in Ilorin, the state capital. The project, aimed at promoting tourism and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Emir of Ilorin, Sulu Gambari, will serve as a multipurpose facility for various cultural, social, and ceremonial activities.

The pavilion project was conceived with federal government intervention through Senator Salihu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District. Following a temporary suspension due to alleged lack of necessary approvals, the state government, in conjunction with the local councils, has resumed supervision of the project.

The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, has taken full responsibility for the project, appointing a chairman for the pavilion construction steering committee to oversee the development and construction process. The recent developments have brought an end to the uncertainty surrounding the project, with construction activities now officially underway.
