Adeleke Warns Against State of Emergency in Osun

On Wednesday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke warned that the declaration of a state of emergency in Osun would be ineffective. This statement came during a condolence visit to the family of Ajayi Aderogba, a party member known as "Rogba," who was shot dead on Tuesday in Esa-Oke.

The killing occurred amid rising politically motivated violence as the state prepares for the upcoming governorship election in August. Adeleke criticized federal security agencies for their lack of action despite formal complaints regarding targeted killings, specifically mentioning Inspector General of Police Tund Disu.

He expressed frustration that even video evidence of violence had not prompted a response. Additionally, Adeleke called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leaders, including Chief Bisi Akande, to address the violence rather than remain silent.

He emphasized that allowing opposition parties to win would be detrimental and promised support for the families affected by the violence.
