Nigerian States to Publish Quarterly Contracts Under Federal Government and World Bank Projects

The Nigerian government, through the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, has mandated states to publish quarterly contract award information under Federal Government and World Bank projects. Dr.

Assad Hassan, the coordinator of the Hope Government Program, revealed this directive during a virtual meeting with state focal persons. The aim is to promote transparency and accountability by making contract details, including project names, award institutions, contractor names, amounts, and more, accessible to the public.

States must ensure compliance with open contract data standards, with independent verification agents overseeing the process. This move is part of efforts to improve governance and ensure efficient utilization of funds allocated for development projects.
