Nigerian Government Disburses N2.45tn for Infrastructure and Security Projects

The Nigerian Federal Government has disbursed a total of N2.45tn to states, federal capital territory, and local governments for infrastructure and security projects from March 2024 to August 2025. The disbursement, revealed in official records from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, spans 17 months and is part of ongoing efforts to address insecurity and bridge critical infrastructure gaps across the country.

The funds were drawn from non-oil revenue savings, with no disclosure of individual state allocations. The disbursements were made through special intervention programs to support infrastructure and security projects, with a focus on sectors like transportation, agriculture, healthcare, education, power, and water resources.

The initiative, including the establishment of an Infrastructure Support Fund for all states, is aimed at improving economic competitiveness, creating jobs, and delivering economic prosperity to Nigerians.
