NYSC DG Warns Corps Members Against Political Involvement

Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), cautioned corps members against participating in political activities in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This warning was issued during an address to the 2026 Batch B Stream corps members at the NYSC orientation camp in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.

Nafiu emphasized the importance of the NYSC remaining neutral and not being dragged into partisan affairs. He urged corps members to focus on their national service objectives and avoid actions that could compromise the integrity of the NYSC.

Additionally, he warned against engaging in online activities that could lead to cyber-related offenses, including cyberstalking and online fraud. Nafiu encouraged corps members to cultivate financial discipline during their service year and to take advantage of the NYSC's skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programs.

He also mentioned the newly introduced NYSC Kudimata Capital Market Awareness Sensitization Program aimed at enhancing financial literacy among corps members.
