Sting Operation at OOPL: Court Jails Four For Internet Fraud in Lagos

Four internet fraudsters have been convicted and sentenced by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission following a sting operation at a hotel near the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The convicted individuals, Bisiriyu Roqeeb, Abiodun Ibrahim, Azeez Olatunji, Akinwale Isaac, and Habeeb Oladipupo, were among the 93 suspects arrested in the operation.

They pleaded guilty to charges of impersonation and internet fraud. Olatunji was sentenced to one month in prison or a fine, while Oshundairo received community service.

Isaac was sentenced to three months in prison, a fine, and had to forfeit various items. Abiodun was sentenced to one month in prison, a fine, and also had to forfeit items.

The court considered their guilty pleas and the evidence presented, leading to their convictions.
