How Suspects Used Obasanjo Library for Cover-Up, EFCC Addresses Allegation of Targeting Ex-President

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied allegations of targeting the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during a recent operation to arrest suspected internet fraudsters. The OOPL management condemned the nighttime operation at the guesthouse, claiming it violated the rights of guests.

The EFCC clarified that the arrests were based on intelligence indicating that suspects were hosting a pool party to mark illegal activities. Nearly 93 individuals were arrested for crimes like impersonation and online fraud.

The agency stated that the remaining suspects would be arraigned soon. Former EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, has called on Nigerian youth to break the cycle of corruption and choose accountability to build a new nation.

The EFCC also launched a Virtual Tool for the Code of Conduct for Public Officers to promote transparency and accountability.
