Abia State Environment Agency Appeals to Umuahia Residents to Stop Attacking Female Street Sweepers

The Abia State Environment Protection Agency (ASEPA) in Umuahia, represented by the Deputy General Manager Ambrose Jonah, has appealed to residents to cease attacking female street sweepers and other staff members. Jonah expressed concern over the increasing rate of attacks on ASEPA personnel, condemning the actions of individuals who have assaulted street sweepers.

He highlighted the dedication of these workers to their duties and the importance of maintaining a clean environment. Jonah disclosed that the agency does not support violence and is working to address the recent incidents.

Five suspects, including former monitor team members, are under investigation for their involvement in the attacks. The agency has covered the medical expenses of injured staff members and urges residents to desist from such violent acts.
