NNPP Urges INEC to Restrict Access to Rival Factions

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has formally petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to prevent engagement with rival factions, specifically those linked to Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and Dr. Ajuji Ahm, as part of an ongoing leadership dispute.

The party insists that the INEC should adhere to a recent court judgment that has established the legitimate leadership structure of the NNPP. The petition, submitted in Lagos, was addressed to INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan and emphasizes that any interaction with the rival faction contradicts the court's ruling.

The NNPP's legal team, represented by solicitor Rex Firma, argues that the INEC must not issue electoral credentials or access codes to unauthorized individuals or groups. The party warns that any action by INEC that recognizes the rival faction would undermine the enforcement of the court's decision.

The NNPP maintains that the judgment remains valid and binding, urging the INEC to comply with constitutional obligations regarding court decisions.
