Presidency Urges ADC, NNPP to Address Internal Issues

The presidency, represented by Special Adviser on Information Strategy Bayo Onanuga, responded to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) regarding their criticisms of the amended Electoral Act. Onanuga accused these opposition parties of making "reckless" and "spurious" allegations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC-led federal government.

He described their constant lamentations as unwarranted outrage aimed at attracting attention. The statement, issued in Abuja, emphasized that the amendments to the Electoral Act were a legislative response to the realities observed in previous elections.

It clarified that the amendments allow for real-time transmission of election results using Form EC8A, which serves as a backup in case of network failures. Onanuga urged the leadership of ADC and NNPP to focus on their internal challenges rather than continuing their complaints, asserting that their arguments about potential loopholes were illogical and misleading.
