The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has publicly addressed Isunmaila Kolawol Salam, demanding that he stop presenting himself as the new Babaloja of Oyo town. In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojay, it was emphasized that Salam's installation was conducted without the necessary approval and due process, rendering it illegitimate.

The Alaafin stated that he would not tolerate any affront to the revered institution of the monarchy and would take steps to preserve peace and legal order in the ancient palace of Oyo. The statement further advised the general public against engaging in transactions or associations with anyone holding the illegitimate market title, warning that such dealings would be at their own risk.
