Alaafin of Oyo Warns Against Land-Grabbing Invasions

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Engin Abimbola Owoade, has publicly warned land-grabbers against invading communities in Oyo West Local Government Area. In a statement released by the Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Bode Durojaiye, the Alaafin condemned the violent threats and demands for fees made by these individuals against rightful property owners.

He highlighted that the situation has led to violent attacks affecting residents in twelve villages, naming specific areas such as Itosi, Yaya, Tella, Omooba, Jow, Idi, Iyalod, Bada, Ladindin, Janna, Ojutay, Iporin, Kajola, Ajibad, and Laagb Ariwinyo. The Alaafin stressed the importance of maintaining peace and security within the Oyo metropolis, which is characterized by a large geographical land mass.

He urged the public to disregard any individuals or groups attempting to establish claims over land that does not belong to them, reaffirming his commitment to sustaining peace and security in the kingdom.
