NNPP Accuses Kano Government of Political Witch-Hunt

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has publicly condemned the Kano State government for what it describes as a political witch-hunt against its members. During a press briefing at their headquarters in Kano, Engr.

Ibrahim Karay, a representative of the party, highlighted recent actions by the government that he claims are undemocratic and unwarranted. The NNPP alleges that the Kano State government has targeted its members out of fear of intimidation from federal powers and alleged financial misconduct.

Specific grievances include the withdrawal of Hajj seats previously allocated to NNPP members, including former commissioners and party leaders, which the party argues is a violation of their rights. Furthermore, the NNPP accuses the government of harassing former officials by demanding the return of vehicles allocated during their time in office, which were part of their salary benefits.

The party has called on the Kano State government to respect constitutional rights and freedoms of association as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
