Umahi Urges Against Politicizing Security in Nigeria

David Umahi, the Minister of Works, addressed the politicization of security issues in Nigeria during a town hall meeting in Gombe State. He emphasized that security challenges are not solely the responsibility of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration and criticized politicians who exploit insecurity for electoral gain.

Umahi expressed confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, commending their commitment to infrastructure development. He announced that construction on the Gombe Super Highway project would begin within the next 30 days, which is part of a broader highway network spanning 700 kilometers.

The project aims to enhance transportation and stimulate economic activity in the region. Umahi noted that the Gombe State Government has already constructed 25 kilometers of the highway, with modifications approved by the federal government.

The project is expected to be executed by a reputable Chinese construction company, which Umahi believes has the capacity to deliver successfully.
